Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
331 PM CDT Sat Nov 1 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Isolated to widely scattered showers are expected across northeast IL and
northwest IN into this evening. Winds remain light and less than
10 mph. With a localized low pressure system over Lake Michigan,
winds are north to northwest closer to the lake north of Interstate
80 and more west-southwest winds south of the Interstate.

Dry and seasonable conditions are expected for Sunday and through
most of the upcoming week with highs in the mid-50s to lower 60s
each day. While there remains a chance (20-25%) for a passing
shower Sunday night and again on Wednesday, the forecast is
trending drier for these periods. Winds will generally be out of
the south-southwest Sunday onward with speeds around 10-15 mph,
but a period of breezy westerly winds is expected for Monday
afternoon where gusts look to be in the 20-25 mph range with min
RH values below 40 percent west of the Fox Valley.

Our next chance of notable rain does not look to be until the
tail end of next week into the following weekend.
