.DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms will spread across northern IL and
northwest IN this morning and result in a period of heavy
rainfall, especially south of I-80 where rainfall amounts in
excess of 2-4 inches are possible. Mostly dry conditions are
expected this afternoon, however, there is a 15% chance for an
isolated shower or two. Additional showers and thunderstorms are
expected to occur with a cold front tonight into Sunday morning, a
few of which could be strong with gusty winds and heavy rainfall.
Drier conditions are expected to settle in from northwest to
southeast Sunday afternoon and persist through Tuesday afternoon.
However, rain chances are forecast to return Tuesday night into
Wednesday as yet another storm system moves through. Otherwise,
expect seasonable temperatures in the 80s through the week.
