Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
329 PM CDT Mon Oct 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...
A weak, slow-moving cold front stretching from eastern Wisconsin
through western Illinois this afternoon will sag slowly southeast
across the area through tonight. Isolated sprinkles and light
showers ahead of the front have largely dissipated, and dry
weather is expected through Tuesday. Skies will remain mostly
cloudy through tonight however, and winds will become northeast
behind the front.

There will be another chance of showers Tuesday night, mainly
north of I-80 and more likely near and north of the Wisconsin
state line. Most areas will likely remain dry during this time
period as well. Northeast winds Tuesday and Wednesday will turn
turn southeasterly Thursday, and southerly on Friday when gusts
into the 20 to 25 mph range will be possible. Another cold front
is expected to move across the area Friday night into Saturday
bringing a chance of rain to the area.
