Where there is a slight chance of thunderstorms as far north as I-80, the greatest coverage of storms will likely be near and south of Highway 24. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Wednesday afternoon and evening... Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Level 2 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk. Elevated Flooding Risk. Limited Excessive Heat Risk. Thursday... DISCUSSION... Peak heat indices Wednesday afternoon are expected to be around 100 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening, mainly across northern Illinois. There is the threat that some of the storms could become severe, posing a risk of locally damaging winds. In addition, thunderstorms will be capable of producing torrential downpours which could lead localized flash flooding. There will be periodic bouts of showers and thunderstorms Saturday through Monday. Any one of which could produce very heavy rainfall and flooding. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
