...A Look Back at the Climate for Meteorological Spring (March,
April, May) 2024 for Chicago and Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature was 63.2 degrees, which
is 4.4 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was
44.5 degrees, which is 3.9 degrees above normal. The mean average
temperature for the season was 53.8 degrees, which is 4.1 degrees
above normal. 11.12 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 0.43 inches above normal. 1.0 inches of snow were
recorded, which is 5.8 inches below normal.

past spring...

The following top ten seasonal records were set for Chicago this
past spring:
** 4th warmest spring on record since 1873 with a mean average
   temperature of 53.8 degrees.



At Rockford, the average high temperature was 64.2 degrees, which
is 5.1 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was
41.6 degrees, which is 2.9 degrees above normal. The average
temperature for the season was 52.9 degrees, which is 4.0 degrees
above normal. 12.43 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 2.10 inches above normal. 6.1 inches of snow were
recorded, which is 0.3 inches above normal.

* Record daily high temperature of 75 degrees set on the 3rd.
* Record daily high temperature of 75 degrees set on the 4th.
* Tied record daily high temperature of 71 degrees on the 11th.

** Tied 9th warmest March on record since 1906 with a mean
   average temperature of 42.8 degrees.

* Tied record daily highest minimum temperature of 59 degrees on
  the 14th.
