The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Los Angeles County in southwestern California...

* Until 900 PM PST.

* At 649 PM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain falling across
  the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 0.4 to 0.7 inches
  in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding, rock slides, mudslides, and minor
           debris flows caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Gauges reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Rock slides,
           mudslides, and minor debris flows.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Acton, Mount Wilson, Pasadena, Burbank, Santa Clarita, Altadena,
  La Canada Flintridge, Sunland, Glendale, Pacoima, Sylmar, La
  Crescenta, Sun Valley, Angeles Crest Highway between Mount Wilson
  and Mount Waterman, Sierra Madre, San Fernando, Arcadia, Monrovia,
  Azusa and portions of the Angeles Crest Highway.
  And the Eaton Burn Scar.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid flooded roads. Be aware of mud slides and rockslides.
