...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM PST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
  county, Los Angeles.

* WHEN...Until 300 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
  occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1018 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy
    rainfall falling across portions of southern Los Angeles
    County. Rainfall rates between 0.25 and 0.40 inch per hour
    have been observed in some location. Urban and small stream
    flooding is likely. Overflowing poor drainage areas will
    cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Minor debris flows
    from the Palisades burn scar are possible.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mount Wilson, Pasadena, Burbank, Van Nuys, Glendora, Santa
    Clarita, Northridge, San Dimas, Pomona, Chatsworth, Woodland
    Hills, Altadena, Glendale, and the Eaton and Bridge burn
    scars.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
