...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
  counties, southeastern Santa Barbara and western Ventura.

* WHEN...Until 1145 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
  occurring or is imminent. In addition, there will be an increased
  risk of rock and mudslide activity, especially in canyon roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 850 AM PST, Rainfall rates across the advisory area are
    expected to be between 0.25 to 0.50 inches per hour. There is
    a slight chance of thunderstorms which could produce locally
    higher rates. Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain. Minor roadway and small stream flooding
    is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Ojai, Montecito, Port
    Hueneme, Carpinteria, Summerland, Rincon Point, La Conchita,
    western Lockwood Valley, Ventura Harbor, Goleta, Old Man
    Mountain, Big Pine Mountain, Highway 33 from Lockwood Valley
    Road to the Santa Barbara County line, Mission Canyon, Lake
    Casitas, Reyes Peak and Highway 33 between Wheeler Springs
    and Rose Valley Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
