.DISCUSSION...
North winds will continue to impact the favored areas through tonight,
with 15 to 25 mph sustained and 25 to 40 mph gusts common. Winds will be
strongest over the San Gabriel Mountains, Los Padres Forest, and the
Santa Ynez Range. Isolated gusts of 45 to 55 mph are possible in the hills
above Montecito. With humidities down to 15 to 30 percent over much of the
inland areas, Elevated Fire Weather conditions will accompany the winds,
is isolated brief critical conditions possible above Montecito. Winds
will relax starting Wednesday with fairly seasonal winds and humidities
Wednesday and Thursday. Light to locally breezy offshore and building high
pressure will kick off an extended period of hot and dry conditions
starting Friday and lasting well into next week. While the risk for Red
Flag Warnings is low with winds not being very strong, Heat Advisories or
Warnings are likely with risks for plume dominated fires.
