...GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS WITH WARMING AND DRYING TREND THROUGH THURSDAY...
.DISCUSSION...
A warming and drying trend will take place this week as an upper level
high pressure system builds over the state. Offshore winds will increase
today through Thursday as offshore pressure gradients build. The strongest
winds during this time will likely be focused tonight into Wednesday
morning over the typical Santa Ana wind prone areas of LA/Ventura
counties. Temperatures will climb well into the 70s and humidities will
fall to the teens today. Dry weather will persist through at least Friday,
with a chance of showers next weekend.
NOTE...Beginning Sunday Dec 1...NWS WFO Los Angeles/Oxnard will enter the
off-season fire weather schedule (one fire weather planning forecast
issued by 330 PM Monday through Friday...and by 930 AM on Mondays and/or
the first day following any federal holiday). However spot forecasts will
be available upon request at any time 24/7.In addition...if critical fire
weather conditions occur we will restore normal fire weather season
operations.
