ANGELES COUNTY...
.DISCUSSION...
Cooler than normal conditions will continue through Thursday with weaker
than usual winds. The thunderstorm chances for our area will be minimal
for our area today, but moisture from Tropical Storm Juliette is now
anticipated to move into the region on Thursday and linger through early
Saturday. While the most likely scenario brings a lot of clouds and a
few light showers, there will be once again a chance for thunderstorms.
This chance extends north into Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties
(5-10%), but is highest over Los Angeles County (10-20%). All regions
have a chance, but the chances are highest in the mountains and
deserts. Any thunderstorm would bring risks for gusty winds, dry
lightning fire starts, and higher mountain brief heavy downpours.
Temperatures will rise Friday through Tuesday, including the Labor Day
Holiday, with highs between 94 to 104 common inland by Sunday and mixing
heights up to 15,000 feet. There is an elevated risk for plume
dominated fires. Humidities between 10 and 20 percent will be common
over the warmest valleys and mountains. Onshore winds will also be
increasing over the interior.
