TO ALL INTERIOR MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY...
.DISCUSSION...
Warm and dry conditions continue across the interior today
with highs in the 80s to lower 90s common. Humidities have
generally fallen between 15 and 25 percent across the interior, but locally
down to 8 to 15 percent across the higher mountains and Antelope
Valley. Gusty onshore winds of 20 to 30 mph will impact interior areas
this afternoon. A weak upper level low pressure system will bring a 5-15 percent
chance of showers and thunderstorms to Santa Barbara and San Luis counties late this
afternoon into evening, spreading to all interior mountains and adjacent
foothills overnight into Monday. While there will be increasing instability
during this time, moisture will be more limited. As a result, any
thunderstorms that develop will have the risk for isolated dry lightning
strikes. Otherwise, look for cooling trend with deeper marine layer and
possible morning drizzle, then warming and drying trend begins Wednesday
across the interior.
