Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
333 PM PDT Wed Sep 16 2026

...SEASONABLY ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS INTERIOR SECTIONS
DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS AND MODERATELY DRY CONDITIONS...

.DISCUSSION...
A deep marine layer will bring mild conditions and spots of drizzle from
the coasts to the foothills through Thursday with modest warming and
decreased marine layer to follow Friday through the weekend. Humidities
will generally stay above 25 percent, but very dry air above marine layer
will keep minimum humidities of 10 to 20 percent going for some mountain
elevations above 5000 feet. Those humidities will lower into the driest
interior valleys and hills by Friday or Saturday. Winds will generally be
light, except for typically breezy onshore winds over the interior areas
of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph, and northwest Sundowners
starting Thursday Night.
