GUSTY SUNDOWNER WINDS WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...
.DISCUSSION...
High pressure aloft will persist through much of the week, bringing
warmer and drier conditions away from the immediate coast. Temperatures
will likely climb to between 100 and 106 degrees across hottest portions
of the valleys, lower mountains, and deserts from through at least
Thursday. This combined with lower humidities, and the increased risk for
large plume dominated fire behavior will bring widespread elevated fire
weather conditions for the valleys, mountains, and deserts through Friday.
Mixing heights across the interior are expected to rise to between 10,000
and 15,000 feet by midweek. There is some uncertainty in the forecast for
this weekend, but there is the potential for the heat to persist across
the interior. In addition, there is a 5-10 percent chance of monsoonal
showers and thunderstorms across LA county sometime between Friday and
Sunday.
