WIND PRONE AREAS OF LA/VENTURA COUNTIES DUE TO GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS
WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...
.DISCUSSION...
Gusty Santa Ana winds will impact typical wind prone areas of LA/Ventura
counties at times today through Monday, with localized offshore winds also
impacting portions of the San Luis Obispo county coast and foothills.
Speeds of 10 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 40 mph will be common in the
wind prone areas at times, with localized gusts as high as 45 mph
across the Santa Susana`s on Sunday morning. Humidities will lower
to between 15 and 25 percent today across many portions of LA/Ventura
counties, then lower to between 10 and 20 percent on Sunday and Monday.
High temperatures will increase each day, with 75 to 85 degrees common
today, then 85 to 92 common Sunday and Monday. The combination of
warming temperatures, gusty offshore winds, and lowering humidities will
bring elevated fire weather conditions to wind prone areas of LA/Ventura
counties today through Monday. A storm system will affect all areas
late next week sometime between Thursday and Saturday, with a 30 percent
chance of a strong storm.
