.DISCUSSION...
High pressure aloft will build over the region today and persist through much of
the week, brining warmer and drier conditions away from the immediate coast.
Temperatures will likely climb to between 100 and 105 degrees across hottest
portions of the valleys, lower mountains, and deserts from Tuesday through at
least Thursday. This combined with lower humidities, and the increased risk for
large plume dominated fire behavior will bring widespread elevated fire weather
conditions for the valleys, mountains, and deserts through Friday. Mixing heights
across the interior are expected to rise to between 10,000 and 15,000 feet by
midweek. There is some uncertainty in the forecast for next weekend, but there is
the potential for the heat to persist across the interior.
