A weak to moderate atmospheric river will arrive Wednesday into Thursday with the worst conditions expected overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Around an inch of rain is expected across the lower elevations with between 2"-3" expected across the North Bay Mountains, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Santa Lucia Mountains. The bigger impact will be from the strong winds associated with this system with widespread gusts between 40 to 50 mph. Locally higher gusts in excess of 60 mph are possible along the coast, mountain ridgetop, and within favored gaps and passes. Winds peak Wednesday night into Thursday morning before easing by late Thursday. Light rain and unsettled conditions will persist into early next week.
