...Discussion from Monterey...

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS
DUE TO OFFSHORE MORNING WINDS AND POOR OVERNIGHT HUMIDITY
RECOVERIES...

Strong high pressure aloft is currently compressing the marine layer
depth to 1000 feet. Coastal stratus and fog have formed with local
inland intrusions of stratus and fog that`ll mix out today. Hot and
dry conditions will continue through late week, weekend and early
next week with above normal temperatures. Above the marine layer
expect poor overnight humidity recoveries and elevated fire weather
conditions. Daytime humidity retention will be poor away from the
marine air along the immediate coast.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...EXTREMELY HOT FOR MANY DAYS STARTING FRIDAY WITH LOCALLY BREEZY
OFFSHORE FLOW AND HIGH RISKS FOR PLUME DOMINATED FIRES...

Fairly typical conditions will continue today. Extremely hot
conditions will form on Friday, with highs of 95 to 105 or more
common inland of the beaches, and very little change through most
if not all of next week. Mixing heights over 10,000 feet are
expected almost everywhere, including coastal sections. While winds
will generally be light, local north to east winds of 10 to 20 mph
with gusts to 30 mph will form each night and morning over the
typically favored areas, especially on Saturday. Minimum humidities
between 10 and 25 percent will be common. Due to the lighter winds,
Red Flag Warnings are unlikely, but there is a history of large
fires with similar heat. As such, there is a high risk for fast-
moving and plume- dominated fires. Widespread Heat Advisories and
Warnings are likely as well, with a high risk for heat-related
illness.
