...Discussion from Monterey...

Above the marine layer expect poor minimum daytime relative
humidity in the afternoons across the interior with little to no
recovery at night in the higher terrain. The marine layer will
remain confined closer to the coast and bays. Sea breezes are
expected in the afternoons and evenings.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS AWAY FROM THE COAST THROUGH NEXT
WEEK WITH INCREASED RISK OF LARGE PLUME DOMINATED FIRES, PEAKING
TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY DUE TO HOTTER TEMPERATURES...

...ELEVATED TO BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS
SOUTHWEST SANTA BARBARA COUNTY DURING LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING
HOURS FROM TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT DUE TO GUSTY SUNDOWNER WINDS
WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...

Moderately hot and dry conditions will continue through Sunday with
very little day to day changes. Temperatures between 95 and 105 will
be common over most valleys, mountains, and deserts. These
temperatures will likely bump up slightly from Monday through
Thursday, especially across the valleys and interior coastal plain
as weak offshore pressure trends are likely to develop. This will
likely translate into expansion of elevated fire weather conditions
over these areas. Minimum humidities will lower to between 10 and
25 percent each day away from the coast, driest next week.
Meanwhile, mixing heights will likely range between 10,000 and
17,000 feet across the interior each afternoon, which will maintain
the threat for large plume dominated fires. Gusty sundowner winds
will likely affect southwest Santa Barbara County the next several
evenings, potentially becoming slightly stronger/widespread with
hotter/drier conditions by Tuesday and Wednesday evening. This will
likely bring brief critical fire weather conditions to Southern
Santa Barbara county, with a 20-30 percent chance of Red Flag
durations during this time.
