...Discussion from Monterey...

Light offshore flow continues through Tuesday with widespread poor
daytime humidity retention and poor overnight recoveries above
1500 feet. A stronger storm system will arrive Wednesday and bring
widespread rain to the region. At least an inch of rain is expected
across the lower elevations with two to three inches expected across
the North Bay Mountains, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Santa Lucia
Mountains. Strong onshore winds are expected Wednesday and Thursday
with widespread gusts between 40 to 50 mph. Locally stronger gusts
are expected across mountain gaps and passes, along mountain peaks,
and in coastal areas. The pattern remains unsettled into the weekend
as light rain persists.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THROUGH MONDAY ACROSS WIND PRONE
AREAS OF LA/VENTURA COUNTIES DUE TO GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS WITH WARM
AND DRY CONDITIONS...

...POTENTIAL STORM SYSTEM TO IMPACT SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA LATER THIS
WEEK, WITH BULK OF RAINFALL LIKELY THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT...

Gusty Santa Ana winds will continue to impact typical wind prone
areas of LA/Ventura counties at times through Monday, with localized
offshore winds also impacting portions of the San Luis Obispo county
coast and foothills. Speeds of 10 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to
35 mph will be common in the wind prone areas at times, with
localized gusts as high as 40 mph across the mountains. Humidities
have lowered to between 10 and 20 percent across much of the region
today, with similar readings expected on Monday. High temperatures
of 85 to 93 degrees are common today, with little change expected
on Monday. The combination of very warm temperatures, gusty
offshore winds, and low humidities will bring elevated fire weather
conditions to wind prone areas of LA/Ventura counties through
Monday. A storm system will likely affect southwest California
sometime between Wednesday night and Saturday, with Thursday and
Thursday night likely bringing the bulk of the rainfall.
