...Discussion from Monterey...

Clear skies and moderate onshore winds continue through Sunday
evening. Widespread wetting rains and a chance for thunderstorms
arrives late Monday morning with scattered rain and thunderstorm
chances lingering through Tuesday. Any thunderstorms that develop
bring the risk of lightning and locally heavy rainfall. Around half
an inch to an inch of rain is expected in the valleys with 2 to
3 inches possible in the higher elevations of the South Bay and the
Central Coast. A warming and drying trend kicks off on Wednesday.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...ELEVATED TO BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF EASTERN VENTURA AND WESTERN LOS ANGELES
COUNTIES...

...POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH STORM BETWEEN
MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY...

Offshore winds brought drying conditions to the region today with
elevated fire weather concerns. The offshore winds will continue to
weaken through the evening. In advance of an approaching weather
system on Monday, there will be increasing southerly winds,
especially in the mountains.

There is the potential for a significant storm system that could
bring widespread rain to the region between Monday night and
Tuesday. The latest projections have rainfall rates increasing,
with a chance of strong to locally severe thunderstorms. A Flood
Watch is in effect for the recent burn scar, where there is the
potential for high inensity short duration rainfall that could
trigger debris flows.
