Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
400 AM EDT Wed May 27 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Ridging of 30.2 inches persists over Lake Superior from a 30.4 inch
high over Hudson Bay. This parent high shifts southward over the
lake at 30.3 inches on Thursday. The high weakens to around 30.1
inches on Friday as it continues its southerly propagation towards
Lower Michigan. Following this, a second ridge pushing in from
Hudson Bay brings 30.1 inch ridging back over Lake Superior late on
Friday, with pressure increasing once again to 30.3 inches by
Saturday midday as the parent high over Hudson Bay propagates south.
High pressure persists over Lake Superior through early next week.
