428 FZUS63 KMQT 041408 CCA GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior...CORRECTED National Weather Service Marquette MI 1008 AM EDT Sat Oct 4 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 29.3 inch low developing over the Colorado Front Range today will track northeast across northern Ontario on Sunday, reaching far northern Quebec as it deepens to 29.2 inches by Monday morning. This results in 29.7 inch troughing over Lake Superior through Sunday night. In its wake, 30.3 inch high pressure moving across the Northern Plains brings 30.1 inch ridging back over Lake Superior Monday through Tuesday. High pressure strengthens to 30.4 inches over the lake on Wednesday as reinforcing high pressure moves overhead from the Canadian Prairies. The high shifts east to New England by Thursday night, allowing 29.8 inch troughing to return to the lake as a 29.2 inch low moves over Hudson Bay Friday morning.
