Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Lake Superior is currently between a 30.3 inch high over the Lower
Great Lakes and a 29.3 inch low over southern Saskatchewan. Into
Saturday morning, the high will build to 30.4 inches over New York
as the Canada low weakens slightly to 29.4 inches and expands across
the North Plains. Meanwhile, 29.7 inch Hurricane Isaias will move
north through Alabama, eventually helping to kick the high east
through this weekend. By early Sunday morning, the Canada low will
split into 2 weaker 29.7 inch lows, one settling over the Central
Plains and one moving from northern Minnesota to northern Ontario.
This will create weak 29.8 inch troughing over Lake Superior for
Sunday, deepening to 29.7 inches by Monday evening. Meanwhile, the
high will shift to the New England coastline then over the Atlantic,
ushered east by the tropical remnants at 29.8 inches as they move
into the NE CONUS. The Colorado Low crosses the Great Lakes basin
early next week, followed by 30.2 inch high pressure for the midweek.
