Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

30.4 inch high pressure over the Ontario-Quebec border shifts east
today and builds to 30.6 inches by Wednesday morning. Throughout
today and Wednesday, the high trails a 30.5 inch ridge over Lake
Superior while mainly easterly surface winds persist. The Quebec
high begins to break down Thursday morning, weakening to 30.4 inches
by Thursday night as light winds veer southerly. By late Friday, the
high weakens to 30.2 inches over the eastern Great Lakes basin as
29.5 inch low pressure develops over Montana. Southerly flow
persists through Saturday as the high deteriorates further and the
Montana low pressure deepens and moves north toward the Canadian
Prairies.
