063 FZUS63 KMQT 271402 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1001 AM EDT Mon Apr 27 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 29.5 inch low over the Central Plains moves northeast today reaching the Upper Peninsula late this evening and crosses the lake at 29.4 inches by early Tuesday morning. The low reaches James Bay Tuesday afternoon while 30.1 inch high pressure builds over the Canadian Prairie. As the low departs northeast, the high builds to 30.2 inches while a 29.8 inch low passes south of the Lower Great Lakes Wednesday. By Thursday night, the 30.2 inch high will span from Hudson Bay to the Central Plains while low pressure of 29.5 inches will be off Cape Cod. The high then shifts directly over Lake Superior by Saturday ahead of the arrival of a weak trough late Saturday into Sunday.
