813 FZUS63 KMQT 161401 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1001 AM EDT Mon Jun 16 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... This morning, Lake Superior is situated between a 30.2 inch high over New England and a 29.8 inch low over the Dakotas. This low deepens to 29.6 inches as it approaches the western arm of Lake Superior tonight. The low then further deepens to 29.4 inches over northeastern Ontario Tuesday afternoon and to 29.1 inches over northern Quebec Wednesday morning. Throughout the day Wednesday, a 29.6 inch low will approach Lake Michigan from the southwest while lingering 29.7 inch troughing approaches Lake Superior from the northwest. These two features will merge into a 29.5 inch low over Georgian Bay Thursday morning while a 30.0 inch high moves over northern Ontario. Weak 30.0 inch ridging then remains over Lake Superior through Friday.
