Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

A 29.9 inch ridge extends over Lake Superior from a 30.2 inch high
over Hudson Bay, while 29.7 inch low moves into MN. This will cause
height falls over the western half of the lake tonight, but the
parent low weakens to 29.8 inches by Friday morning. Meanwhile, the
ridge over the lake gradually strengthen to 30.1 inches through this
weekend as a 29.8 inch low over Quebec shifts east towards Nova
Scotia and deepens to 29.5 inches. Ridging builds to 30.2 inches
over the lake by early next week as high pressure over Hudson Bay
strengthens to 30.4 inches. Broad troughing of 29.5 to 29.6 inches
will persist over the Rockies and Northern Plains through the period.
