Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1000 AM EST Thu Nov 27 2025

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Lake Superior will spend Thanksgiving between a 30.6 inch high over
the Dakotas and a 29.4 inch low over Quebec. By Friday, the high
will weaken slightly to 30.5 inches as it shifts over the Upper
Mississippi River Valley while the low weakens to 29.5 inches, still
over Quebec. Meanwhile, a 29.7 inch Colorado Low develops, which
will move over Oklahoma at 29.8 inches on Saturday while 30.4 inch
high pressure spans the Great Lakes. The low ejects into the
southern Great Lakes Basin early Sunday morning at 29.9 inches,
reaching the southern Ontario/Quebec border at 29.8 inches Sunday
evening. In its wake, 30.6 inch high pressure moves over the Upper
Midwest, sliding south of the Great Lakes at 30.4 inches Monday. The
high is eroded on Tuesday by a low pressure of around 29.8 inches
over northern Ontario and a 29.5 inch Nor`Easter off the coast of
the Chesapeake Bay.
