801 FZUS63 KMQT 250801 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 401 AM EDT Sat Apr 25 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... Lake Superior is currently in 30.0 inch ridging between 29.8 inch low pressures over Lake Erie and southern Saskatchewan. As both lows dissipate today, ridging builds over the lake to 30.2 inches as 30.4 inch high pressure over northern Quebec builds. The pattern remains stable over Lake Superior Sunday while a 29.3 inch Colorado Low develops. Throughout Monday, this low moves northeast, arriving in Wisconsin Monday night. The low then crosses Lake Superior Tuesday, reaching James Bay Tuesday night. In the wake of the low, 30.2 inch high pressure builds over the Canadian Prairie, sending 30.1 inch high pressure over the lake Wednesday. This high approaches the Great Lakes slowly Thursday.
