014 FZUS63 KMQT 182001 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 401 PM EDT Thu Jun 18 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... 29.2 inch low pressure currently over southern Quebec by this afternoon slowly fills in on Friday over the St. Lawrence Seaway while a 30.0 inch high builds over the Mid-Mississippi Valley, persisting into Saturday. 30.0 inch high pressure ridging develops over Lake Superior on Saturday and remains through Sunday as ridging progressively increases from northern Canada. The ridging over Lake Superior increases to 30.2 inches by Monday as the parent high in northern Canada moves into western Hudson Bay. However, with a weak 30.0 inch Clipper low approaching Lake Superior on Tuesday, expect the ridging over the lake to weaken to 30.1 inches by late in the day. The Clipper low then arrives in Lower Michigan on Wednesday.
