064 FZUS63 KMQT 020900 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 AM EST Tue Dec 2 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A weak 29.9 inch trough is over Lake Superior this morning. This trough will be absorbed by a 29.7 inch trough associated with a 29.5 inch low over Hudson Bay today. The trough will exit the lake to the east by Wednesday morning. In its wake, a 30.5 inch high builds over the Dakotas Wednesday evening. As this high shifts into the Lower Midwest Thursday, it will pass a 30.2 inch ridge over the lake. Meanwhile, a 29.7 inch low will move over Lake Winnipeg before passing north of the lake overnight into Friday at 29.6 inches. Friday night, another 29.7 inch trough will pass over the lake. Over the weekend, Lake Superior will be between a 30.3 inch high over Saskatchewan and a low of 29.6 inches over Quebec, with the high approaching Lake Superior late in the weekend to early next week.
