Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
400 AM EDT Sat Mar 28 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

A 30.7 inch high over the Mid-Mississippi Valley this morning moves
into the Ohio River Valley today, eventually weakening to 30.5
inches by this evening as it continues eastward; the high eventually
moves offshore into the Atlantic by Sunday. Upstream on Sunday, a
29.6 inch low organizes over the Central Plains, lifting a 30.0 inch
trough over Lake Superior by Sunday night. This trough lingers over
the Great Lakes and slowly deepens with time early this week, before
the low pushes through at 29.5 inches on Tuesday. As the low lifts
into Canada late Tuesday, 30.3 inch high pressure builds over the
Northern Plains, gradually building pressure over the Upper Great
Lakes by Wednesday as the high presses east through Ontario at
around 30.5 inches.
