638 FZUS63 KMQT 230201 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 PM EDT Wed Apr 22 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... 30.0 inch high pressure shifts eastward over Lake Superior tonight while a 29.4 inch low deepens to 29.1 inches over Montana. This low then moves into southern Manitoba by Thursday evening. This sends 29.6 in troughing over Lake Superior Thursday night into Friday. As the parent low weakens to 29.9 inches Saturday and remnant troughing moves south of the Lower Great Lakes at 29.7 inches, 30.0 inch ridging will build over Lake Superior. By late Sunday, this ridge builds to 30.1 inches. Meanwhile, a 29.3 inch Colorado Low develops, moving towards the Upper Midwest by early Monday, causing pressure over Lake Superior to begin to fall rapidly toward 29.5 by mid- Monday.
