153 FZUS63 KMQT 172101 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 PM EST Sat Jan 17 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 29.9 inch ridge will build over the lake tonight ahead of an approaching clipper low. The low will move over the lake on Sunday and deepen to 29.6 inches by Sunday night. The low will then move to Quebec on Monday while a high pressure of 30.6 inches drops south over the Plains. This builds ridging of 30.1 inches over much of Lake Superior on Monday which weakens on Tuesday. A low of at least 29.9 inches then moves over Lake Superior on Wednesday. As the low moves east a weak trough of 30.0 inches will extend over the lake while a 30.5 inch high builds into the Canadian Prairies.
