Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

A 30.3 inch high continues over the Upper Great Lakes today before
departing for the Lower Great Lakes this evening. Behind it, a 29.6
inch Clipper descends over far western Lake Superior on Tuesday. As
the Clipper continues eastward towards the St. Lawrence Seaway
Tuesday night and Wednesday, 30.1 inch high pressure ridging moves
back over Lake Superior late in the day on Wednesday. This ridging
is pressed southeast to the Lower Great Lakes Thursday into Friday
while a 29.1 inch low emanates off the Northern Rockies. This low is
expected to bring troughing of 29.6 inches over Lake Superior on
Friday.
