Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
400 AM EDT Tue May 26 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Lake Superior will remain under the influence of 29.8 inch troughing
today until a 30.4 inch high over the western shores of Hudson Bay
extends weak ridging of 30.1 inches over Lake Superior by tonight.
The parent high then shifts south over the lake on Thursday at 30.3
inches. On Friday, the high weakens to around 30.1 inches as it
continues its southward propagation. However, another ridge pushing
in from Hudson Bay brings 30.1 inch ridging back over Lake Superior
late on Friday, with the ridging increasing once again to 30.3
inches by Saturday as the parent high over Hudson Bay pushes south.
