Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
400 AM EST Sat Jan 24 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

High pressure ridging of 30.6 to 30.7 inches is expected over Lake
Superior today as a 30.9 inch high holds over the Great Lakes.
Ridging over the lake weakens to 30.3 inches on Sunday as a 29.6
inch low moves northeast along the Atlantic Coast. A 29.8 inch
clipper low crosses the lake Monday night into Tuesday. Another
clipper low, much weaker at 30.1 inches, grazes the northeast
portion of the lake on Wednesday. A strong high pressure descending
from the Canadian Prairie around 30.7 inches late next week brings
ridging back to Lake Superior, likely persisting into next weekend.
