Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1000 PM EST Mon Mar 2 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Weak 30.1 inch trough over the lake tonight gives way to 30.2 inch
ridging into Tuesday morning as a more compact high of 30.4 inches
moves to James Bay. A weak 30.1 inch trough develops Tuesday
afternoon and evening. Another large area of high pressure will move
into central and eastern Canada Wednesday into Thursday morning. The
strong high will help keep a 29.7 inch low moving up from the
Southern Plains to our south as it weakens to 29.9 inches by the
time it reaches the Lower Great Lakes Wednesday night, dissipating
thereafter. Friday, low pressure ejects out of the Plains, reaching
Lake Superior Saturday morning at least at 29.8 inches.
