National Weather Service Marquette MI
400 AM EST Thu Jan 29 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

A 30.2 inch remnant trough over the eastern lake this morning
continues to weaken as a 30.5 inch high over the Dakotas and
Minnesota phases with a strengthening 30.8 inch high pressure over
northern Manitoba today. This eventually weakens the remnant
troughing to 30.5 inches by Friday morning before ridging of 30.6
inches moves over the lake on Saturday as the high builds into the
Plains. By Sunday morning, this high pushes into the Lower
Mississippi Valley, weakening to 30.5 inches as an upstream low
pressure of 29.9 inches moves into northern Minnesota. The low moves
over Lake Superior Sunday night through Monday morning at near 30.0
inches before being replaced by a 30.5 inch high Tuesday morning.
