491 FZUS63 KMQT 141402 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1002 AM EDT Sat Jun 14 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.3 inch high pressure southeast of James Bay is extending 30.2 inch ridging over Lake Superior this morning. Throughout today and tonight, the high will weaken and gradually be replaced by another 30.3 inch high moving over northern Ontario, though 30.2 inch ridging will remain over Lake Superior through Sunday morning. Through Sunday night, the high pressure shifts towards the Eastern Seaboard, with ridging over Lake Superior weakening to 30.1 inches. By Monday morning, a 29.7 inch low will be developing over the Dakotas, with ridging over Lake Superior weakening to 30.0 inches. The 29.7 inch low moves over Lake Superior early Tuesday morning, deepening to 29.4 inches Tuesday night into Wednesday as it moves from northern Ontario to Quebec. Wednesday into Thursday, another low moves across the Great Lakes at around 29.6 inches. Weak ridging of around 30.0 inches then settles over the Lake late Thursday into Friday.
