Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

30.0 inch ridging extends over the lake from surface high pressure
centered over the Southeast US. The ridge breaks down this evening
as 29.8 inch low pressure moves over WI and northern Lake Michigan
tonight into early Wednesday, deepening to 29.7 inches as it moves
into the Lower Peninsula. As the low departs into Ontario Wednesday
afternoon at 29.5 inches, high pressure builds to around 30.2 inches
over the Northern Plains. This high settles over the Great Lakes
basin Thursday before a 29.7 inch low pressure over the Plains
Thursday night deepens to 29.4 inches as it passes over the Upper
Great Lakes, departing to the east for the early weekend period.
