448 FZUS63 KMQT 010900 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 AM EST Sun Feb 1 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... The ridge is weakening over the lake early this morning ahead of a 29.8 inch surface low currently analyzed over southern Manitoba. This will cross Lake Superior as a 30.0 inch trough tonight. The trough moves over the Ontario/Quebec line late Monday as a 30.4 inch high moves over northwest Ontario. This high settles south over the Upper Mississippi River Valley and Plains through Wednesday ahead of a 29.7 inch low moving into Manitoba by Thursday morning. This quickly tracks through the Great Lakes Thursday evening through Friday morning followed by ridging of at least 30.2 inches by Friday night.
