Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1000 AM EST Wed Dec 10 2025

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

29.5 to 29.6 troughing over Lake Superior this morning gradually
weakens to 29.7 inches through this evening as a 29.2 inch low
currently over southern Lower Michigan tracks to southern Quebec at
29.1 inches by tonight. This will allow 30.2 inch high pressure to
rebuild over the Northern Plains later today through Thursday while
extending weak ridging over Lake Superior. Ridging breaks down
slightly on Friday as a 29.8 inch trough drops out of northern
Ontario, but ridging quickly rebuilds this weekend as 30.6 inch high
pressure over the Northern Plains extends back into the Great Lakes.
