Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

This morning, 30.3 inch high pressure west of Lake Superior builds
to 30.4 inches as it moves over the lake. The high weakens to 30.3
inches over Quebec early Thursday morning as 29.9 inch low pressure
moves slong the western Hudson Bay shoreline. This will pass a weak
30.2 inch trough over Lake Superior Thursday. Meanwhile, 30.4 inch
high pressure develops over North Dakota and Manitoba. This high
moves over northern Ontario and Lake Superior by Friday morning as
the low pushes into Quebec and another 29.9 inch low develops over
South Dakota and Nebraska. The high weakens to 30.3 inches as it
moves to the Quebec/Ontario line Saturday morning as the low shifts
to the Upper Mississippi Valley. By Sunday morning, another 30.3
inch high will move over northwestern Ontario as 29.9 inch low
pressure extends across the southern Great Lakes basin. The high
shifts to northeastern Ontario Monday morning.
