619 FZUS63 KMQT 031401 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 AM EDT Thu Sep 3 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 29.9 inch ridge extends over Lake Superior today from a 30.2 inch high over Hudson Bay. The ridge over the lake will gradually strengthen 30.1 inches through this weekend as a 29.8 inch low over Quebec shifts east towards Nova Scotia and deepens to 29.5 inches. Ridging builds to 30.2 inches over the lake by early next week as high pressure over Hudson Bay strengthens to 30.4 inches. Broad troughing of 29.5 to 29.6 inches will persist over the Rockies and Northern Plains through the period.
