Light south winds early this morning will turn to the
west-southwest by late morning or early afternoon. Expect above
normal temperatures again this afternoon with relative humidity
levels falling to 35-40 percent across most of the area. Parts of
central and northeast Missouri as well as west central Illinois
will be cooler with higher humidity this afternoon, and there
will be a chance for showers most of the day in northeast
Missouri and west central Illinois. Mixing heights will top out
above 5000 feet across most of the area today, and winds in the
mixed layer will be stronger today producing better ventilation
rates than yesterday.
Rain is expected to overspread the area late tonight through
Thursday. This will be a widespread wetting rain with highest
rainfall amounts across northeast Missouri and west central
Illinois. Rain will end from north to south late Thursday night
through Friday. Temperatures will fall back below normal for
Friday through the weekend into next week.
