.DISCUSSION...
National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC)
assessments show snow depths of several inches extending from
Kansas City through St. Louis with just a few inches over south-
central sections of Missouri. Cold air will gradually warm Thursday
with above normal temperatures Friday resulting in 36-48 hours of
snowmelt. Until then, surfaces remain cold and saturated. A quick
round of precipitation arrives late Friday through early Saturday
with the highest chances (60-80%) southeast of I-44 in Missouri and
south of I-64 in Illinois, where precipitation (predominantly
rainfall) amounts may approach 0.25" before ending. A brief period
of light snow/flurries is possible Saturday morning with no
additional accumulation expected. A strong cold front brings arctic
air back to the region late Saturday into early next week.
