Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
1029 AM CDT Sun Oct 5 2025

Today will be warm and dry with afternoon relative humidity
values dropping into the 30s across the area. The lowest relative
humidity values are expected across west-central Illinois and
portions of east-central Missouri. Winds from the south will gust
into the low 20s (mph) during the late morning and afternoon,
largely across northeast Missouri and west-central Illinois.
These conditions will be conducive for effective burning where
fuels are dry enough. Warm temperatures will continue on Monday,
but increasing moisture will increase relative humidity values.
There is a 40-60% chance for showers and thunderstorms across the
area on Monday ahead of a cold front, though not everyone will
see rain and those that do will not benefit greatly. The front
will move through Tuesday, bringing a wind shift to the
northwest.
