Showers and thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rain in
parts of northern Missouri and central Illinois this morning, but
should largely diminish by the afternoon, and other areas will
remain dry. Another similar round will be possible (40-60%) in
the same areas tonight and tomorrow morning. Hot and humid
conditions will continue in many areas today and tomorrow,
particularly along and south of I-70, but more widespread heat
relief and slightly improved humidity are expected Monday and
Tuesday. Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms will be
possible in places Sunday and late Tuesday/Wednesday. A cold
front will shift winds from southwesterly today to northerly late
Sunday and Monday.
