Dry weather with temperatures in the low to mid 80s is expected
today. Afternoon relative humidity levels will drop into the
30-40 percent range across most of the area, with somewhat higher
readings in northeast Missouri. Expect light southerly flow with
mixing heights topping out between 5000-6000 feet in most
locations with fair to good ventilation rates. The mixed layer is
forecast to be unstable this afternoon which should also help
with ventilation.
There is a chance for rain across parts of northeast Missouri and
west central Illinois on Wednesday, but most of the area is
expected to be dry through the day, with temperatures continuing
in the 80s. Widespread rain and cooler weather will move into the
area Wednesday night into Thursday, and periods of rain are
expected through Friday. A chance for rain continues mainly
across the eastern Ozarks into Saturday night.
