Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
319 PM CST Sun Nov 16 2025

An abnormally dry air mass is in place across the region today,
with RH bottoming out around 20% among weak northerly winds that
will continue to mitigate Elevated Fire Weather Danger. Tonight
into Tuesday, winds will become west-southwesterly and begin
increasing moisture from west to east. There is a narrow window
during the late morning and afternoon in which exists a low
chance for Elevated Fire Danger when RH is low enough and winds
strong enough. However, with confidence low in these conditions
aligning conducively before moisture increases further, in
addition to increasing cloud cover and cool fuel temperatures to
start the day, this threat is expected to be mitigated. Scattered
showers and a thunderstorms or two are expected Monday evening
into the overnight hours, with the chance for a wetting rain
peaking along and east of the Mississippi River.

Confidence remains high in another round of wetting rain
Wednesday night through Friday, with the Ozarks having up to a
60% of receiving at least an inch of rain.
